Background

Mack McEwen passed away on May 16, 2006. Mack was a long time member of the Washington Retriever Club and dedicated many hours and tremendous effort to the WRC and Field Trial friends over the years. Trialers from all over the country have dog kennels hand made by Mack. He made bird boxes, and modified popper pistols for people. His ingenutiey and dedication to the Field Trial game will be missed by many but not forgotten.

Mack and his dog Stormy a chocolate lab won the Open at Southeast Washington in a 60-65 dog Open. Mack won many trials in the years he went up to Canada for their summer trials. Over the years he had many great dogs.

Mack leaves behind his wife Georgia, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You can sign an online guest book through the end of May 2006.

Eddie DeWitt long time Field Trialer, Professional Retreiver Trainer. Died January 4, 2006. Preceeded in death by his wife Kay. Both were dedicated dog trainers and advocates of retriever field trials. Founders of the SeaTac line of retrievers with Eddie Bauer.

Congratulations to FC AFC Clubmeads Road Warrior owned by Frank Kashevarof handled by Jim Gonia. He won the 2005 National Retriever Championship. You can read the full story here.
